Singer-Songwriter Bobby T. grew up in Waterford, NY. He was a member of the Waterford Boy Scout Troop 34 with fellow musician and friend Gary Roberts, aka Johnny Rabb.  Bobby T. later took the skills he learned in the scouts to a new level and joined the U.S. Coast Guard and later the U.S. Marine Corps.  During his military service, he was on the  front four of the U.S. Coast Guard Silent Drill team that won the Best of the U.S. Military competition in 1972.   He also had the privilege of being in the Presidential Honor Guard and a pall bearer for President Harry S. Truman. 

While in the military Bobby T. had the opportunity to see the world and carry his music with him.  He's performed in night clubs worldwide including stops in Hawaii, New Zealand, Chili, Peru, Mexico, Las Vegas, Seattle, and San Diego.  Bobby T. also performed for years on Block Island, Rhode Island.  "I love it when I play clubs and someone requests a song", says Bobby T., "I tell them I made a deal with that guy; I don't play his songs and he doesn't play mine!  I'll bet you a hundred dollars if you walked up to him and asked him to play a BObby T. song he'd say he doesn't know any!  Then I play them one of my songs."

In December 1990 Bobby T. won the NY State Adult Male Musician of the Year award. He performed an original song "Meant To Be" for the competition held at Proctor's Theater in Schenectady, NY.  Since then, Bobby T. has recorded much of his original material including a song that he wrote about movie star Elke Sommer.  The song was recorded, produced and arranged by Sharon Stone then of O-Tone Productions, NYC.  Ms. Stone has written the music for ABC soap operas, the music for CBS sports and has had songs on the Billboard charts.  Stone says about Thyrring, "He blew me away.  He is a one take guy in the studio!  Some stars are discovered, some happen to be in the right place at the right time, and then there's Bob.  When he makes it, and he will make it, it will be because he barged in.  He has the talent and the songs but most of all he has the professionalism and determination that it takes to make it in the music business. He's a star waiting for a chance to shine."
